The World’s Most Beautiful Museums
“In poetically well built museums, formed from the heart’s compulsions, we are consoled not by finding in them old objects that we love, but by losing all sense of Time.” - Orhan Pamuk
In honor of International Museum Day, we assembled a list of our favorite museums around the world. Museums house the world’s treasures—be they artistic, scientific or historical—and in turn they are often designed to reflect or enhance the collections they host.

This should have thousands of notes.
^Seriously though.

I reblog this every time it comes up on my dash. Such a powerful message.
I have issues with this. The representation of LGBT in the media is always an affluent, white, and usually male couple- see how Neil Patrick Harris and his fella have become the poster boys for the Gay Marriage campaigns in the US. We’re not all rich white cis men.
The representation of the ~evil~ straight couple (and I say this as a pansexual genderqueer, so I have no vested interest in exposing ””heterophobia”” lol) is, in my opinion, classist, as it presents the idea that working class families are dirty, violent, and incapable of loving their children. It’s also pretty fatphobic, as it sustains stereotypes that fat people are dirty and bad, whereas slim people (the gay couple) are clean and successful. It demonises the working class, and perpetuates the idea that to be morally wholesome, you must have a certain kind of body. There’s a lot of stuff going on in these images and it’s not just about LGBT issues.
Also notice how one of the gay men are represented as the family man and the other has the sensitive female
And yes the worst thing these parents seem to have done is being fat, apparently. It’s what the focus is on. Of course a healthy diet is always important but not eating healthy and exercising isn’t the only reason for obesecity.
i like how the affluent gay couple are clearly drinking “WATER”, as opposed to “BEER” (BEER is what poors drink)
This animation is absolutely glorious. Just take a moment to appreciate that this was all done by somebody’s hand; that they slaved over this, and this was the result of a human, not a computer. It’s completely perfect.
are we not gonna talk about the fact that the reflection is Ariel and Prince Eric?
Holy shit
wait… but Sleeping Beauty came out in 1959, and The Little Mermaid came out in 1989…. that’s a 30 year foreshadow….
Disney you clever bastards.
i really doubt that’s prince eric and ariel
